The AI arms race intensified as NVIDIA announced plans to invest up to $100B in OpenAI, taking a noncontrolling stake. OpenAI will deploy at least 10 GW of NVIDIA’s advanced data center systems, starting with a $10B tranche for its Vera Rubin platform rollout in 2026.

In Europe, BBVA raised its hostile bid for Banco de Sabadell by 10% to €17B ($20B), but Sabadell’s CEO dismissed the all-stock offer as too weak, calling for a 30–40% premium; the acceptance period runs through October 7.
